Water falls from above
I tell the sky not to cry
Everything will be all right

Sons leave for war
I tell the mothers not to cry
Everything will be all right

Loved ones laid to rest
I tell the ones left behind not to cry
Everything will be all right

Soulmate walks out the door
I tell the broken hearted not to cry
Everything will be all right

Faithful patients die
I tell the doctor not to cry
Everything will be all right

Table sets empty
I tell the hungry children not to cry
Everything will be all right

Daughter runs away from home
I tell the fathers not to cry
Everything will be all right

My life crumbles before me
No one tells me not to cry
But everything will be all right
Everything is all right

The Journey to My Journey

The 3 Day Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk. This walk is completed in 15 cities nation wide with millions of dollars raised each year. The walk covers 60 miles in 3 days. Nothing that I have ever attempted to accomplish in my lifetime. But this year, this year it is time for me to take on this journey and make a difference in the battle against breast cancer.
My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor. A woman in my church is currently fighting against breast cancer. It is all around us everyday and yet, as a young woman, I rarely think about it.
But this is not only a physical journey. It is an emotional and financial journey as well. Each participant must raise $2,300 of donations to participate in the walk. I would like to raise more than that number but in reality I have 6 months to raise $2,300 just to participate in this walk. So this is my journey before the journey. Hopefully this blog will help me to track and advertise fundraising events that I will be planning. I hope if you stumble across this blog you will not merely read it and close the screen without an impact. I would like you to think about losing the woman that you care the most about in your life and realizing that you could have made a difference in that fate. You could have given a small amount of one of your paychecks to help that woman not die. Think about your mother, your sister, your wife, your girlfriend, your best friend. Think all of those who have lost one of those people in their life. Don't take my endeavor to walk this walk lightly, because I am not. I want to make a difference but how much of a difference I can make depends on how much of a difference others want to make. So please, help me on my journey to the 3Day Susan G. Komen walk. If not for yourself then for all the women that have suffered, will suffer and have died suffering.
